Taking Payments
- Face-to-face – in-person card payments are the mainstay if you trade from a physical shop, stall or door-to-door. Customers can pay by inserting their card into a reader or use contactless chip technology to tap and pay.
- Online – sell via a website by enabling online payment. You can also provide local delivery or order and collect services.
- Email – secure pay-by-link is a great way to take payments via e-mail or SMS for one-off sales or if customers prefer not to order and pay online.
- Mobile – take payments in-person at a festival, event or outdoors by using your mobile phone as a card reader. Or remotely using mobile web or in-app payments.
- Telephone – if you already have a card reader or virtual terminal, it’s straightforward to take telephone orders and payments by keying in card details.
- Mail order/catalog – simply key in card details from customer order forms to take payment
- Invoice – request payment from customers with digital invoices. You can usually create, customize and track payments through an app or secure website, too.
